Path of Exile 3.10 update brings new Delirium DLC to POE on March 13th, and this week it will launch on PlayStation and Xbox One platforms. Below, there is all the information we know about this update.
As with previous expansions, Path of Exile's playerbase jumped with the launched of Delirium from an average of 6,500 per day on Steam the day before to 132,500 the next day on March 13, 2020. While these numbers will certainly decrease in the coming weeks, the game hit a new all-time high in peak concurrent users on Steam.
The expansion adds deadly new enemies and amplifies existing ones to create an intense layer of difficulty to Path of Exile's core combat. Delirium also introduces Cluster Jewels which further enable deep character customization and unlock new power. You'll encounter the Mirror of Delirium in each area. Touching this mirror causes your reality to turn to mist and your nightmares to manifest before your eyes. In the delirium, existing monsters in the area gain new abilities and new Delirium monsters are spawned.
In the delirium, existing monsters in the area gain new abilities and new Delirium monsters are spawned. The deeper you plung into Delirium, the deadlier the monsters you encounter will become. Exiles who are brave enough may be driven by desire to risk their lives in pursuit of the tantalizing rewards provided by Delirium. Delirium affects every encounter in the game, including the bosses to add an optional hard mode layer to all aspects of Path of Exile combat. Delirium combines with all past league content that has been intergrated into Path of Exile, for example, Ambush Strongboxes, Betrayal Encounters, Incursion and Breach. The Delirium expansion introduces Cluster Jewels; one of the most significant improvements to character customisation in Path of Exile. These jewels expand and customise players’ passive skill trees to provide unprecedented power and versatility.
Path of Exile launched in 2013 for PC, and it has steadily expanded both regions and platforms since. It came to Xbox One in 2017 and PlayStation 4 in 2019. And it hit China in 2017, bringing the game to a key region that enjoys PC free-to-play games and action-RPGs. Path of Exile continues to release expansions and tech updates several times a year, along with new cosmetics (Grinding Gear’s main approach to monetization is by selling cosmetics, along with more server options, character slots, and other things that don’t affect moment-to-moment gameplay). Many of the updates address player requests. For Delirium, Grinding Gear is working on improvements to skills and wands, for example. But this also comes from learning how to update a free-to-play online action-RPG over the years — after all, it’s not like there’s a roadmap. Path of Exile was one of the first such games to launch.
