Best Spells for Players to Use in Baldur’s Gate 3
Heroes' Feast
Heroes' Feast is a brilliantly powerful buff in Baldur’s Gate 3, and one that will be needed when facing off against Act 3's bosses. The spell conjures a contained with camp supplies and water with can be added to the party's horde of food but also increases all affected target's hit point maximum by 12. On top of that, heroes' feast also gives immunity to diseases, poisons, frightened condition, and all Wisdom saving throws will have advantage.
Heroes' feast lasts until the next long rest, but with it being a sixth-level spell, it is tempting to save that spell slot for more powerful damage spells. However, as the radius of Heroes' Feast is so large it is possible for Shadowheart, Halsin, Jaheira or a hireling to cast this, hit all companions, and then be left at camp. Heroes' feast also affects summoned party members such as familiars, ranger companions, and Planar Ally.
Haste
Haste: Target player gains Hastened for 10 turns, requiring concentration. They gain +2 AC, an Advantage to Dexterity Saving Throws, when the condition ends, become Lethargic. Classes that can cast this spell, Sorcerer, and Wizard.
Haste is a buff spell that can increase your character’s speed, attack power, and gain extra action. The extra action per turn makes this spell incredibly powerful especially in turn one of combat when you can cast it on a melee Fighter. If a level 5 Fighter has an Extra Attack, they can attack essentially four times in one turn and use their bonus action for a fifth attack!
The best strategy is to use Sorcerer‘s Metamagic, which allows you to cast a single target ability on two targets only using one action. This gives you two Hastened allies on turn one which radically increases your chances to win the encounter. The only real downside to this spell is you can get a similar effect with the potion of speed. It loses some uniqueness that you can get this from one time consumable, but the Hastened effect is so powerful it’s a must-have level 3 spell.
Scorching Ray
If you need to deal some quick damage to multiple enemies at once, then the Scorching Ray spell is the perfect attack to keep in your repertoire. Specifically, this spell causes you to shoot out three beams of fire that can be aimed at different enemies or just one opponent.
As you cast the spell, you'll roll six D6 dice, dealing up to 36 damage if you cast all the bursts on one target. While this is a great ability for single-target damage, we recommend using different AOE spells if you need to damage a larger group of enemies.
Fireball
A good Fireball has no equal, being a spell that can already be augmented by upcasting it. Being a level three spell, casting it with a higher tier spell slot deals even more damage, yet Sorcerers can augment it even further with their Metamagic.
Making enemies have disadvantage on the save, casting the spell even further or silence casting are just a few of the effects that can make Fireball a spell that ends encounters. Be careful with the blast radius and your allies, since such a powerful explosion will surely hit them. Metamagic does allow you to alter the spell, so allies always succeed on saving throws, but they would still take half damage.
Guidance
Guidance is the reason you should keep Shadowheart around unless you have another cleric or use a Feat to learn Guidance. Outside of battle, Guidance gives you an extra four-sided dice to roll during ability checks, so you get between +1 and +4 on any dice roll. It works the same in battle, too. Allies with Guidance roll an extra die that augments their attacks and spells.
Players can consider these mentioned spells and equip them with your characters. They may help you a lot in the process of completing quests. And you can also Buy Baldur's Gate 3 Accounts and join in the adventure with your best friends.
