How Weather Works in Lethal Company
Weather is a gameplay mechanic in Lethal Company that affects moons at random and can drastically alter the difficulty of the moon.
The current weather affecting each moon can be seen on the "moon" page on the terminal. To reach this page, type "moons" into the terminal input box. Each weather condition can be seen behind the moon's name in parentheses.
However, there may be cases where you are forced to land or stay on a moon that is being affected by a weather condition—such as if you are currently on a paid moon or if all of the moons are generated with weather conditions.
In that case, it's important to know exactly what each weather condition does, in order to safely complete the day without dying and wasting it.
All Weather Conditions and Effects in Lethal Company
Foggy
How dangerous foggy weather is depends on the moon you’re on and how familiar you are with it. A fog map in this condition is deep and hard to navigate and can make even long-time Lethal Company players get lost going between the ship and main entrance on their favorite moons.
Though Rainy conditions are technically more overtly dangerous than a foggy planet, it’s all too easy to fall down into ravines or down crevices in foggy weather. On the plus side, Forest Keepers will have a tougher time spotting you and your crew in the dense cover.
Flooding
Players will notice puddles of water on the ground the moment they land. There will be constant rain that threatens to raise the water level over time.
Avoid standing in water for extended periods because this will deplete your stamina and avoid staying submerged underwater for too long because this can drown you.
You will have fewer safe areas to walk and by 6 pm the water levels will be noticeably higher, so your chances of drowning are increased.
Avoid drowning by handling lighter loot and deprioritizing heavy loot. You can also use the Extension Ladder to get on the ship without jumping or using the hand ladder.
Stormy
As previously mentioned, stormy is the weather that conjures lightning to you and your crew’s peril. Now, a lot of scrap items are metallic and will actually attract the stormy weather’s electrical discharges. While moving metal objects, you may hear it begin to spark, that is your warning sign that you need to drop it immediately. Soon after, a bolt of lightning should strike the object.
From there, it should be okay to transport items safely, just keep an eye on it as it may spark again. Traveling under objects and roofs may also help to keep the lightning at bay.
Rainy
This weather is quite easy to comprehend, but can still leave some dangerous spots on the moon. When you hop on a planet that’s raining, the rain can leave quicksand spots outside. And you know what happens if you step in quicksand.
Make sure to watch where you’re stepping, since it can be easy to get out of it if you’re fast enough. But many players have drowned in quicksand only shortly after realizing they’re already knee-deep in it. This is especially true if you’ve run out of stamina.
Eclipsed
The Eclipse is perhaps the most dangerous weather effect (at least in terms of enemies). Whereas the flooding makes the moon itself dangerous, Eclipses cause certain types of enemies to spawn during the daytime, rendering any exploration during this period hazardous. The Sandworms can spawn and usually come in pairs; Eyeless Dogs roam the world, and Forest Giants are as much a nuisance as during any other weather. If you want a truly lethal experience, try exploring during an Eclipse.
When you are going to collect items outside in Lethal Company, you had better know the weather in advance and find the right method to deal with it. Players can Buy Lethal Company Accounts to join in this interesting adventure with your friends.
