To celebrate Destiny's 10th anniversary, Bungie introduced a new armor set in Destiny 2 in September. Unlocking this set requires players to hunt down five hidden treasure chests, each providing one piece of the armor. These chests, called Cayde’s Stashes, are scattered throughout the Pale Heart of the Traveler, reminiscent of the chests added after Cayde’s death in the Forsaken campaign. However, these stashes don’t contain any audio logs or lore, only the armor pieces that form the Legend Veteran set.
Getting Started: Accessing the Lost City
To begin your search for Cayde’s Stashes, you’ll need to head to the Pale Heart of the Traveler, specifically to the Lost City social zone. The stashes are scattered around this area. However, there is a catch: you need to have unlocked the Lost City transmat zone before you can start hunting for the chests. This means progressing through The Final Shape campaign with each of your characters to unlock the area.
Once you have access to the Lost City, you’re ready to begin your search for the five Cayde’s Stashes, which will unlock the pieces of the Legend Veteran armor set. Here’s a detailed guide to locating all five Cayde’s Stashes in the Lost City of the Pale Heart:
Cayde’s Stash 1: Near Ghost
When you spawn into the Lost City, you’ll find yourself near a railing, facing toward where Ghost stands, serving as the vendor for the Pale Heart. Walk past Ghost toward the mailbox kiosk, and you’ll notice a pile of crates to the left of the tunnel that leads to the old Vanguard war room, which now houses Micah-10’s terminal. To find the stash, go around the back of these crates.
Cayde’s Stash 2: Eris Morn’s Old Haunt
From the first stash, head down into the tunnel next to the crate pile. This tunnel leads to Micah-10’s terminal. At the bottom of the stairs, there’s a wall you’ll need to go around. As you pass it, turn toward the wall to find the second stash. Long-time Destiny players will recognize this spot as the old location where Eris Morn stood inside the Tower, acting as the vendor for The Dark Below expansion.
Cayde’s Stash 3: Near the Fan Switch
After collecting the second stash, backtrack out of the tunnel and take a look over the Tower area as you leave. To your right, you’ll see a staircase leading up to a platform. In the original Destiny, this platform was home to a switch that activated a fan on one of the buildings, allowing you to jump to the roof and float in the fan’s air stream. While the fan no longer works, you’ll find the third stash hidden up on this platform, near where the switch used to be, tucked behind a wall.
Cayde’s Stash 4: Near the Hangar
Facing the railing with the Vanguard war room behind you, the platform with the fan switch is on your right. Just beneath that platform is a passageway that leads to the area where the Speaker of the Traveler’s chamber once stood. Now, the Speaker’s room serves as a trophy room for your Pale Heart Traveler collectibles. To find the fourth stash, head to the left wall of the area, opposite the path that leads to the Speaker’s room. Look for a corner near the railing, where a Cabal guard is standing. The stash is located near a large cable on the platform in that corner.
Cayde’s Stash 5: In the Speaker’s Chamber
For the final stash, enter the passage opposite the hangar that leads to the Speaker’s chamber. Once inside, turn right and check along the right-side wall to locate the last of Cayde’s stashes.
Silver, of course, is the premium currency of Destiny 2 and is primarily used to purchase cosmetic items in the store. Unlocking the Legend Veteran Armor Set
Once you’ve gathered all five Cayde’s Stashes and collected each piece of the Legend Veteran armor set, you’ll also gain access to a surprise: a set of universal armor ornaments. These ornaments allow you to transmogrify your current gear to look like the Legend Veteran set, completely free of charge. To claim them, head to the Tower and visit the Special Deliveries kiosk, where a package containing the universal ornaments will be waiting for you.
Completing the Legend Triumph Seal
Finding all five Cayde’s Stashes not only rewards you with the armor pieces and ornaments, but it also helps unlock the Legend Triumph Seal, which is tied to the 10th-anniversary event. Initially, most of the Triumphs associated with this Seal will be hidden, but after collecting all five stashes, either logging out and back in or returning to orbit will reveal the remaining Triumphs.
Completing all of these Triumphs will earn you the Legend title and a special 10th-anniversary emblem, a prestigious reward marking your dedication to Destiny’s decade-long journey.
In summary, the Destiny 2 10th-anniversary event offers not only a nostalgic trip through the Pale Heart but also valuable rewards in the form of high-stat armor and exclusive collectibles.
