Rainbow Six Extraction’s released date has been delayed again by Ubisoft, which is going to launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S platforms on later January 20. Here is a brief introduction of Rainbow Six Extraction.
Ubisoft has revealed the release date of its upcoming PVE co-op game, Rainbow Six Extraction: 20th January 2022. Earlier this year, Ubisoft delayed both Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic, pushing Extraction to an unspecified day in January 2022. Although the developer/publisher has yet to formally confirmed the release date, it seems an update to a news post published back in June now gives a firm release for the shooter.
Rainbow Six Extraction lets you choose from 18 Rainbow Six operators to take on alien archæans over 12 maps set across the United States, including New York and San Francisco. The extraction of the title refers to the fact you'll have to choose whether to risk pushing deeper into alien territory after completing each mission, potentially losing whatever rewards you've earned, or extract to bank your gains.
Rainbow Six Extraction was previously named Rainbow Six Quarantine, a name Ubisoft decided to rethink given the whole global pandemic situation. It'll be releasing on the Ubisoft Store, the Epic Games Store, and Stadia, and will be included with an Ubisoft+ subscription.
Extraction – in case you've forgotten – is an expanded version of the 2018 Siege limited-time event called Outbreak, where three players were pitted against mutated monsters.
"Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games," said Ubisoft has said about the title. "With unique features like Missing in Action or The Sprawl, every mission is set to be a tense and challenging experience in which you’ll lead the elite operators of Rainbow Six in a fight against a lethal and evolving alien threat."
A total of 18 operators from the franchise will be playable in Rainbow Six Extraction, and those who own Rainbow Six Siege will see those 18 characters unlocked in that game as well, along with a cosmetic bundle for both games. When Rainbow Six Extraction does release, it will include cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms.
For decades, Team Rainbow has been the shield against the worst global threats imaginable. Now, we face a new terror: a lethal, mutating alien invasion. You will need to constantly adapt your strategy to stay ahead.
