How to Board Ships in Star Citizen
Boarding ships is generally not a part of the main missions available in Star Citizen. However, it can be a great way to take an enemy hostage or capture some precious cargo.
Boarding can take a few different shapes, whether it's on the ground or deep in space, there are a few ways to gain access to a ship and take control of the vessel. Boarding is the only way to get access to some ships currently unavailable to most players in Star Citizen. Having this skill at the ready is always helpful and can come in handy when least expected.
When in space, players trying to board will need an EVA suit to allow for free movement outside a ship and safety from the vacuum of space.
It is possible to board ships that are running at full capabilities, as long as they are stationary. This will need a somewhat stealthy approach and is a little tricky to pull off on experienced pilots.
If the doors of the ship are unlocked, the boarding process is easy and simple. However, most of the time the external access of a ship will be locked. There are a few ways to bypass this, however, none of these seem to be an intended gameplay mechanic.
The player will need to do damage to the door, whether it's using fists or a weapon. This is much easier to do when the shields are disabled or the ship is turned off.
How to Refuel Ships in Star Citizen
First things first, you’ll need to retrieve your spaceship from the vehicle retrieval terminal. Simply choose the one you want from the list and hit retrieve for permission for a docking request.
If you've already got your ship on the landing pad, you can skip this step, but the next step is to make it over to the hangar so you can get in your ship’s bridge. Sit in the pilot’s chair, and from there, follow these steps:
Bring your mobiGlas interface HUD screen up by hitting F1
Find the Vehicle Maintenance Services app along the bottom, click it
Refuel will pop up along the options, click the button
Wait until the gauges show that the tanks are full
You're now ready for take-off
You will know when the gauges for the fuel pods are full not only because they will fill up, but also because the refueling ship will put warnings along the screen telling you not to lift off until the refueling is complete.
This is completely auto instead of manual, so you can just wait the rest of the process out. It’s the same for any spaceship with the default type of fuel, so no matter which ship you retrieve this will work the same. You won’t need quantum fuel or hydrogen fuel either, which are harvestable resources.
Once the refueling process is done, you’ll be free to take off and explore the universe.
How to Repair Ships in Star Citizen
The first thing you’ll want to do is retrieve your ship from any vehicle retrieval terminal. Pick your ship and it will send it to the hangar, which you can then navigate to. If your ship is already on the landing pad, you can just go ahead and hop into it.
Once you find your ship on the landing pad, it will be seemingly ready to go, but before you take off into space, you can repair your ship here. Once your inside of your ship, follow these steps:
Hit F1 to bring up your mobiGlas
Navigate to the Vehicle Maintenance Services tab, on the bottom row of selections
Click on the services your ship requires, the very first option will be repair
Now, the system will give you a warning not to lift off yet, because it’s busy repairing your ship! The screen will show your gauges rising as the ship is repaired. Once it’s finished, you are then ready to head back into the open space.
Players can follow the guidance to experiment these measures with your ships in Star Citizen. And you can also Buy Star Citizen UEC to upgrade your ships quickly and join in the space adventures.
