What is a Skull in Halo?
A "Skull" is a collectible found in every Halo game, with even the real-time strategy entries of the series having their own range. These collectibles are often found scattered around any given Halo's missions, hiding around corners or on top of difficult-to-reach locations. These skulls grant the player a variety of modifiers that affect how they play.
Many of Halo's skulls are used to challenge the player even further, such as the "Mythic" skull which gives enemies increased health. Some skulls are used purely for humor, with the "Grunt Birthday Party" skull being a particular favorite, causing a Grunt to explode into confetti when shot in the head. A handful of skulls, however, can be used to benefit the player in several key ways.

How to Find Boom Skull in Halo Infinite
Location: Warship Gbraakon
Effect: Doubles the radius of all explosions
You can get the Boom Skull in Halo Infinite’s first campaign mission. Since you can’t travel back to the warship later, you must make sure you don’t miss this Skull. After fighting your way through a several rooms of Banished foes, you’ll reach one with some large containers on the left, three container lifts on the right wall, and some upper walkways.
To get the Skull in this room, you need to head up onto the walkway and stand in front of the middle container lift. Jump onto one of the containers before it gets lifted so that you can ride it up.
As it rises, turn to the right and walk onto the adjacent container, which is not moving, to easily find the fiery, blue eyes of the Boom Skull.
How to Find Cowbell Skull in Halo Infinite
Location: Foundation
Effect: Increases the acceleration objects gain from explosions
Cowbell is a Skull that is only available to collect during the second mission in Halo Infinite, called Foundation. When activated, the Cowbell Skull increases acceleration from explosions. Skulls with this effect have been used in previous Halo games to complete speedruns. This Skull is difficult to find and even more so to obtain since it's not immediately visible on the scanner, and players will need to grapple at the right angles to reach it.
Halo Infinite's Cowbell Skull is in the large room just after players go through the area with holograms of children. Due to the high ceiling, the Skull won't show from the scanner until players get closer to it. Grabbing the Cowbell Skull involves using the Grappleshot in Halo Infinite to reach one of the pillars, then jumping and grappling to the top section. This can be tricky because players will need to land in a small opening using momentum from the Grappleshot.
Players can choose to find some useful skulls in the game in order to help them in complete missions easily in Halo Infinite.
