In the beginning of November, Blizzard at ExileCon showed "Diablo IV" that players have already seen it. Compared with the 3rd generation, the 4th generation picture and atmosphere are closer to the 2nd generation, and it is also darker. It is reported that as early as 4 months ago, people on the Reddit revealed some information, but now many of the key elements have been confirmed - such as the new game engine, darker art design, revealed 3 classes (Barbarians, Druids, and Witches), and so on.
Back in July, the leaker claimed that the game will have five classes at launch. These classes are: Paladin, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Amazon and Druid. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that Blizzard will reveal the Paladin and Amazon classes at a later date. Furthermore, the leaker claimed that we’ll be getting the Necromancer after the game’s launch.
The rumor also reports that "you can trade items in the game with other players such as gold, basic crafting materials (but not special crafting materials as they are soulbound) and any loot ranging from grey quality and all the way up to rare yellows." However, there's still a question mark on whether legendary stuff will be tradable.
The rumors about a fourth Diablo game are founded on more than just speculation. Between hints dropped by the community manager about multiple Diablo projects in the works, and the recent job postings for nine new positions for an "unannounced Diablo project" over on the Blizzard Careers page, it's pretty safe to say Diablo 4 is on the way. Kotaku even recently reported that the reason Blizzard decided to cancel their new Starcraft FPS is because they want to focus more on Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4.
The leak includes some interesting other tidbits, including the claim that a Diablo IV beta will launch next year. The next Diablo installment is said to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett. Since Blizzard has announced that Diablo IV will be coming to PC and current-gen consoles, we might be looking at a cross-gen title. Of course, with the game likely being far away from a release, there’s also the possibility the game will only release for the next-gen consoles.
There is currently no more news about PVP. But Blizzard said that because they are currently taking the MMO's production route, the PVP elements are important to many players, although they are now focusing on creating a wonderful "Diablo" PVE gaming experience. They don't want to promise anything about PVP at the moment, because what happened in Diablo III PVP only disappoints fans. PVP is something we might see in the future, and once the game enters a stable phase, players will be happy to see it join.
